Trim above glove box

How do you remove the trim above the glove box and is there room behind it to mount something about 2" deep?

When you say behind it, I assume you mean closer to the windshield. Not underneath the trim piece because the air bag is there.

It just pops out and no there isnt enough room for something 2 inches deep
