e34 525i thermostat

Hi everyone,

just got a 525i and the thermostat went. I went to a local dealership and picked up a new housing, thermostat, o-ring, and gasket. when i called earlier, the guy told me that the 88 degree t-stat was stock and that's what he had in stock, but I just noticed that the one i picked up is a 92 degree. should i bring it back for an 88, or do you think it'll be fine.

personally, i think its ok, just want to hear some more experienced guys with these cars.

I just did the reverse. I just installed an 88. the bmw dealer said the 88 degree was the designated replacement. an 88 degree is what is also what is called for on realoem.com also I believe

thanks, I'll call the dealership in the morning and see what they recommend.
