hello all, I have been loitering here for a while now, and I figured it was time to post...... my current lease( Infiniti FX35) is up in a few months. I have narrowed down my "practical" wish list to IS350 and BMW 335I...... I'll post more on that subject at a later time.
The question I want to ask now is whether I can use an aftermarket remote starter with the FOB and starter button on an 06 or 07 330/335i?
Thanks in advance

I dont mean to sound like an ass...
But how about getting a used e46 or an e36 M3 and buy a house with a garage?
I know some circumstances prohibit one having a garage, but a lot of apartment complex's now offer garages as well...
I guess if you plan to always lease a vehicle, you might always plan to rent an apartment, but I see it as throwing away money...
Sorry, I'm no help, I would think any reputable car audio shop would be able to give you a yes or no answer. Or at least be willing to try for a sale...

I don't think you can get a remote starter on a leased vehicle w/o voided the warranty or your lease agreement. Besides modern Bmws are over engineered anyway..why would you want to give yourself a major headache with electrical glitches and problems. call the dealer and ask what modifications you can do on a leased vehicle you don't plan on keeping, I bet it would be slim to no mods allowed :(

You don't sound like an ass, so don't worry, I own a house with a 2 car garage. The FJ40 and the FX go in the garage, as will the new car.. my wife takes the Jeep to the train station for work into NYC..........

I don't think you can really do anything to a new bimmer. Everything is tied to the computer and if you mess with one thing something else won't work!! LOL

thats what I figured, suxs though, thought it might be nice to start the car and have the engine and heat warm when I leave my office in the evening..

^ ah, I see...
Actually in the owners manual, they tell you NOT to let your BMW idle to warm up. Book says to start the car like normal and just take it easy until the engine has warmed up. As in, dont be reving it to the moon...
I'd suggest getting heated seats, I love them!

I would think heated seats would do the trick :)
Plus, once you start the car, it just begs to be driven. I don't think anyone has the will power to just watch a 335I idle.

In Germany, it's against the law to let your car idle - it pollutes the environment. The Germans clean their cars of snow, and just drive off slowly.

heated seats are a must.. In my Infiniti it takes 20 minutes for them to get warm, by then I'm 10 minutes to work.

with the auto start you need a relay on the brake light switch connected to the start, worked with mine but a little buggy
