The time has come for us to sell the family 740il. It has been used and abused and is literally about to self destruct. So yesterday we went car shopping at our friends store, who happens to be the local Mini dealer, I we found a 2003 Mini in nearly perfect condition. It was driven by an old school teacher who sold it to buy a new mini convertible. It only has 20500 miles on it and I figured the lady who owned it probably didn't drive it hard. It is nearly fully loaded with the premium package, cold weather package, premium sound, double moon roof, and full leather. I am in no way a Mini expert so if I repeated on any of those features just ignore it. It is Black with a white roof, white mirrors, and white racing stripes. We got to test it and it was an extremely fun little car to drive. The only thing I didn’t like was on startup it had a little squeak that went away in about five minutes. He offered us $20900 with the trade in off the 740il. That price is after all registration fees and such. He gave us $3000 for the bmw and it is pretty abused. Do you think this is a good deal?

It has xenons, the dual sunroof/panaramic roof combo, and heated seats. I was slightly off on the miles and price. It has 21400 miles and costs $20900 after the $3000 is reduced for the trade in. The $20900 is out the door with all fees and taxes payed.

Depending on how abused your 7 is it might be better to sell it on ebay or locally.

Yeah, or even craigslist.

What I really want to know is if the price of the mini is a good one. Not if the trade in value the dealer offered me is good. What it really comes down to is the fact that my father is purchasing this car for me and he does not want to go through the hassle of selling a car.

How much more would you have to spend to get a new one....with all the warranty included? To repair them is not cheap...most of the time it is a dealer item. Got my '03 for 18K with only 10 thousand miles on it...but I got the extended warranty for 75K miles. Price sounds within reason for the S package and all the stuff on it. Being a school teacher doesn't mean she was easy on it.

I looked at one at Hendricks preowned BMW and MINI in Charlotte that had a lot factory mods done is an 05 has JCW work done. They were asking $22,200+ and has only 6,000 miles. If I had not just bought my 05 3 weeks before it would have been driven home.
Here is the link. www.hendrickbmw.com try www.hendrickmini.com since this one does not work.

I would probably try and get a little better deal than that if I was you.
