transmission problem

I have a 92 525 i with the manual -auto transmission swith - transmission has been giving me the warning on the console : transmission programing -when it does - the car just can't move (acts like in netral)- I have to wait transmission to cool before it works - so I guess I'm needing help to reprogram and rset it- your hep will be appreciated. Thanks

check the tranny fluid
also go to www.bmwe34.net and look at troubleshooting that will give you an idea of what you can do to varify if its the tranny or just a sensor.

Guys can you tell me where I find the transmission sensor on the 525 i 1992-I think that might be my problem.

I have downloaded the pdf file-looked every where -could not locate the sensor to that transmission-it might be on another name - can you please help me -I think that my problem might be related to electronic to that sensor as I just change the transmission but the problem stills occurs.
