If so was this option worth it and how does it work?

I have it and it's great. It works better than expected. The audio quality is better then the phone. I hear it's even better if you get the phone cradle for the center console that hooks into the antenna.

It's part of the premium package.

It took me 2 mins. to hook up my Treo 650 and ir's so intuitive to use you may spend around 15 mins. playing with it and you're ready to go.

The only issue with the Treo is that it won't store the contacts and #s in the stereo system. This is probably because there are multiple #s and also addresses for each contact. Make sure your phone is by trying it first. I found BMWs info is not exactly correct in that the system probably supports more phones than they list. Mine was not supposed to work.

I ordered the phone cradle, and they just now tell me that it still has not even been finished yet (Still in production? WTF?).

At first I thought BT was BS then I moved to Chicago and bought a cel phone. I hooked it right up and next thing I knew I was making calls with the phone laying in the center console. Now what would be real sweet is if you could connect a BT GPS and have it work the same way. But all the ones I've seen only handle phone calls.

It's definitely worth it.

Anyone?

I've seen customers with 7's that had blackberrys that worked, but I think some of the early black berrys had limited functionality, not 100% sure tho.

The list of phones that are compatible are the phones that BMW has tested and approved to use with there vehicles. It doesn't mean that no other phone is compatible, it just means that these are the phones that BMW KNOWS to work and will not effect the car in a negative way.

no reason it shouldnt work with blackberries...bluetooth is a universal standard of connectivity...as long as your blackberry has bluetooth it will theorretically 100% work.

I have a 335i coupe and the BT system works with my Blackberry 7250. With this series I had to have operating system version 4.10 or later. It works great, downloads my entire phone book.

It seems like all bluetooth phones will work but only the "supported" ones will bring in the phone book info....which honestly is a nice feature. www.bmwusa.com lists the supported phones by carrier.

Anyone?

It is, subject to carrier. You can check the link below. I use a Blackberry 8700 im my Acura TL...works great. I purchased a Motorola Razr V3 for my wifes 328xi, which should be delivered to us next week. There is a BMW docking cradle listed for the Razr, but I have not been able to fine one. Anyone else?

How does the phone work in the BMW? Where are the numbers displayed?
How do you scroll?

The numbers are displayed on the radio on 3 series cars without navigation and on the Nav screen when equipped. Scrolling is done by buttons on the radio or by the same steering wheel button that changes cd track or radio station.

BT is awesome. I use it with my Blackberry 8700...fully compatible. Definately worth the money.

Does anybody know how to set it up with a Sprint Katana? It isn't listed as one of the Sprint compatible phones. The car seems to recognize it but I can't get it to work.

I have a 335i Coupe with BT and no Navi. I have the cradle in the console for my RAZR. The radio mutes and the contact shows on the radio when a call comes in. The voice quality inbound and outbound is excellent. Keeps the phone charged while in the cradle also. I am glad that I got it.

Has anyone used a Samsung D500 or D520 in the 3-series? If so, does the phone book load?

Thanks,

My coupe is being delivered on the first week of January and I have a few phone options here and I want to know which phone to hold onto to keep as a reliable phone that is compatible with my new car.

I have a Treo 680, a Blackberry 8700g, I might buy a Cingular 8525 and/or a Treo 750. If the Treo 650 works in the BMW with BT then I might keep the Treo 680 that I have since it is basically the same phone. But, will the Treo 650 and 680 have a cradle kit for the car?

Does anyone have any of the Windows Mobile phones, which I greatly prefer, working with the BMW BT setup? I would much rather have a full-on Windows Mobile phone because of the features as well as the number of applications I already have for them. If it doesn't work well with the car I might wait though.

What smartphones have a cradle either available now or on the way for this car?

I can tell you for sure that the cradle for the 650/700 is NOT done yet. I got one with my car (THAT I got two months ago) and after I got it, they called and sheepishly had to tell me that it wasn't even done being produced yet, much less on order. So no timeline right now either. Bleh.

I have the BT w/o nav and a Treo 650. I get calls and the numbers appear, the sound quality on my end are great, but I'm told that the caller on the other side has a difficult time hearing me. Maybe the microphone isn't that great? And I'm speaking pretty loudly. I also haven't been able to get all of my contacts to load up (only my b/f and dad made the cut), so I may try to re-pair to see if the numbers will work. Otherwise, I may just input the numbers onto the address book separately...not the best fun, but any number I don't recognize goes to v/m anyway.
