Dave, dont you have a sharkfin on the roof? The power/most cable SHOULD be connected to the receiver in the trunk. I say that because Audi locates its receiver there.

MOST access is behind the left rear seat bolster. There is a little box with green cables. You have to rearrange the cables according to the light output. It's fiber optic, so you have to make sure all your Inputs/Outputs are in order.

Dont ever question a BMW tech!!! moto, wouldnt his Sirius antenna be on the roof?

Sorry I missed that part, yes it should be in the shark fin but it still needs to be connected to the MOST bus. I failed to ask earlier, are you going to pay to have the vehicle programmed? It will need to be retrofited for SDARS to be added to the vehicle order.

Actually, he should have brought it in to update the car before installing the sat, then he will need to pay to have the retrofit done for the radio.

I'm not sure why it matters if the SDARS install was done before or after s/w updating. Retrofiting the SDARS is CP but the updating of software is covered by warranty.

Thanx for responses. Car was bought off the lot, had everything, except sirius. I got the unit myself (circlebmw), dealer's reprogramming for free since I'm installing it. They're also doing the fiber rewiring.

But what I meant was, where are the cables to plug into the sirius receiver? I don't see any cables 'laying around' (ie the sirius antenna wire and the power/MOST cable) to plug into the receiver. Instructions simply say 'Locate the antenna and power/MOST cable)'.

IIRC, they are in the center of the cargo area under the carpet and panel. If not they are in the left side near where the amp is. Should be bundled in a sheath. Programming for free?! Nice!

Yup. Found that out this morning. They said BMW 'changed the location of the wires'. They didn't update the install guide though (dated Aug 06). The tech just ran wires from the standard install place (got the mounting bracket from circlebmw for $25) to the left by the amp.

Price? $0.
