The control arm bushing for m3 is different then on a standard e30. It is offset. Does anyone know what is the reason for that and what does it do to the suspension geometry?

thanks,
steve

The e30 M3 89--> have different bushings in the front to obtain more castor. This means the front wheels are further back creating a better turn-in for the car. This is good for racing purposes especially autocrosses. The early M3's did not have the bushings, therefore the wheel is centered more.

The offset bushings create castor, which will move the wheel back a little bit in the wheel well, which increases handling like rob said, and it also allows you to run a little bit bigger wheels+tires since there is more room.

They are 18"x8 Compomotive Mo's. They are awefully expensive and quite possibly the strongest rims there are,so I hear. They use them in rallying,so the quality is next to none....

Love these wheels !:buttrock
