Anyway, i thought this was compiled well for anyone who didn't read this.
One thing though, I don't believe they turned the DSC off! They just turned off (or it is already off) the DTC. You must hold the button down for a few seconds and you'll get the DSC off symbol on the display! Also, when you do turn off the DSC,you'll get 0 - 60 4.80 seconds! I did! With it on, you can't get (or i couldn't) below 5.0! Usually 5.08 , 5.09... With the DSC on, you have to keep your rpm's low at the launch, or it'll cut the engine slightly and take a chunk off your time! That's the little secret. So try it when you get 335i! Is this BMW's little trick to stay within limits ? Okay, test.. car 0 - 60 5.1 seconds! 300 HP.. okay, insurance isn't too bad.
By the way, did you happen to turn off the DSC ? :evil2

I'm saying you can't get the optimal 0 - 60 run with the DSC on because you can't launch at a higher rpm to get your 60' foot time down. 1400 rpm launch is great in this car, but 2200 is optimal.. any higher, you're spinning a little too much and you start to lose time. If you launch @ 2200 with the DSC on, it'll cut the engine, you'll feel it like you hit a brick wall. The car does ~ 5.1 with just a basic launch @ 1400 rpm with the DSC on.

Right now i'm trying to figure out when is the best time to shift 1st. Since 2nd pulls so hard beyond 60, wondering if it'll net me a better time shifting around 6300 or 6500 in first..hmmm....
Oh one more thing. A buddy of mine drove the 335i at the dealership yesterday and told me the car seems slow off the line. I asked him if he was in manual mode, yep... Well did you set it to M1 in manual mode ? Because when you switch over to manual, it goes to DS and you're in 2nd gear actually on take off. Oh i didn't know that... I found that out also.
Switch to manual mode, pop it forward, you're set on M1. If you don't, it'll start in 2nd, then shift to first around 2500 rpm which you'll feel a bog and slow your time way down... if you want to start from M2 shift forward then back, and it won't shift and you can do a 0 - 60 in one gear only! ;)

Yes, but it's a tiptronic (best one i've used to date anyway).. you can control your shift points all the way to 7000 rpm, and it's instant, no over rev crap which can make you hit the rev limiter or delay too long between shifts... Also, you pull down to shift, not push up, so it's more of a natural feel (that sounded bad ;) ) haha
