Well, I posted a few times about my apprehension moving from Saab to BMW. I just felt ready to try something else. Frankly, since I drove a 328i a few weeks ago, I knew getting one would be the right decision. I finally ordered one on Nov 16th.

SPG
Sport
Heat
Xenon
Logic7

The "production line" says my car is in production and scheduled for completion on Nov 24th. Whoo hoo! Now, I'm starting to wonder about two things. Dakota Leather and iDrive. I'm thinking I should have at least sprung for the Dakota. I've seen photos and it does look nice in this car. I have standard black leatherette. Oh well, the car will still be way more fun to drive than the Saab 93 Aero I would have bought!!

Interesting because I currently own an '03 95 Aero and am picking up an '07 3 Series tomorrow.

The Aero is a very nice car and I actually really like it and it's in amazing condition but...BMW 335...Wow. Are you moving from a 93 Aero or was that what you would have purchased?

I might consider foregoing the Logic7 and getting the leather. The Black 3-Series leather is not incredibly beautiful and soft but the you may be sorry about the Laetherette. Did you compare them?

Enjoy your car!

The 95 Aero. Nice car. I'm actually in an '04 93 Linear (2.0T - 210HP). I really do enjoy the car and actually like the turbo push and the gobs of low-end grunt. Before my 93, I had a 2000 95. I've owned 4 Saabs now and do enjoy them. I was actually a big 3-series nay-sayer. I just didn't buy the hype around the car and always thought my car a better overall bang for the buck.

My decision process was pretty involved. I don't remember ever being this excited about buying any of my other vehicles. I wanted the 328i coupe for a while until practicality and my two young boys shook me out of my dream. The 335i Sedan would be awesome. We are about to relocate to Phoenix though and I didn't want to get crazy on car payments yet. Also, I'd like to see how these twin turbos hold up under Arizona's blistering summer heat.

I didn't try the leather but I just love the look of that Dakota leather. I was really trying to keep my costs down but lesson learned. Get what you want!!! I'm not going to complain though. I'm still excited as hell for my new ride!!!

Forgot to mention - I demoed the Logic7 in a 325i and was impressed. The sound was better than my '04 93 with premium sound, which I thought was pretty good. That was my opinion on first listen. Have you given the system a test drive?

It seems we have both been a similar track in re autos. I have been a Saab guy for 9 years now and love a lot about them:
- My interior is far nicer thn my new car.
- Great power 260hp and 258 torque.
- Quiet and solid.
- every option you can think of for a lower price.

I too got the 3 series bug when the 07s came out and especially the 335. It started to sink in a few yrs. ago but I though I couldn't afford them. With all of the service paid for and my Saab coming off warranty the payments make a lot more sense.

You may be able to change your order so consider this as my opinion only.

I have the premium sound in the 95 and I even put in a top end alpine then tuned the amp and speakers to be as good as possible. I also have an iPod connector built in. It sounds better then before I made the mods.

When I drove the 335 with the stock audio it sounded every bit as good or better as my Aero with the modified system.

With that mouthful said you may be able to change your order. If so, I would look at a BMW with the leather and check out one with the standard audio system. I'm assuming the standard audio is the same in the 335 as it is in the 328.

I agree with keeping the payments low, especially with kids.

Good luck.

Actually the standard audio in the 335i is the upgraded system as compared to the 328i. The 335i sound system is worth the extra if you buy a 328i. I know it's too late, but the difference between a 335i and 328i is $3K after you adjust for the difference in standard vs option equipment. Quite a steal for 70HP (maybe more).

Guys, thanks for the replies. Well, for sure it is too late to add the Dakota Leather. Called today and my car's status is in the body shop. No worries though. I feel really good about getting the Logic7 though. I really tried to make the numbers on the 335i sedan work for me but I didn't want a mid $500 car payment.

We'll see how the numbers look on the 335i sedans when mine is ready late Dec or early Jan. I can always cancel delivery on the 328i and get a 335i later!
