Oh my Freakin God. I tempted a new Audi A8 4,7ltr on the Autobahn today in my Friends 540. This guy was in the left lane and cruising not bothering anyone. WHat did I do. I came up behind him flashed my headlights and gave him the checkered flag. Well He took off, I took off. I was redlining 3rd and 4th gear I could not keep up. I was running 255Kmh (about 143MPH) Thís Audi kicked my ass then slowed down adn waited on me. I caught up gave him the thumbs up and he fingered me in return an dtook off to Mars. Anybody got 88K to loan me so I can buy a Audi? I promise to repay you:devillook

a4, a6, a8 are some pretty quick cars. my bro has a a6 2.7l twin turbo and that thing screams. i have seen some of the a4 quatro in action and those thigns can move as well

The Audi A8 Qauttro can boost up to 420 Horses. The S8 is unimaginable. Close to 600 Horses in a luxury wagon

I have a 540 and had a 2.7T. The stock 2.7 T OR the 4.2 is no match for the 540. The 540 pulls so much harder than the 2.7. The 4.2 is a bit closer on the highway but the auto I dislike. I almost bought the 4.2 but at that time it was only auto. I am talking about 2003 and earlier models.

Those Audi Quattros are fast. I was thinking about an S4 before I bought my 330, stock hp is 250, and for a few hundred bucks you can get a chip that takes them to 300hp, plus awd, man they are killer. But I don't much care for Audis interiors, and I've always wanted a bimmer.

The regular 4.2 A8 would not deliver such the beating as you described. While it does posses 340 hp, it's also lugging 4800+lbs. Sounds like you definitely ran into a the 12 cyl. version or quite possibly the new V-10 S8.

From what I can see a stock 2003 S6 sprints from 0-60 in 6.3 Isnt a 2003 6 Speed 540 0-60 in like 5.5?

I think if you had a good driver in a 540 6 Speed it would be very close IMO

I bet the newer S4 with the V8 Screams. The Q when going from a stop is key. I test drove the 4.2 and it did not seem to have the get up and go as the 540 does (plus it is auto). I think next time around I am going to look at a used RS6.
