close friend of mine luckily owning a black on black vert 03' mustang cobra allowed me to challenge him only hours after completing my budget/used supercharger install. im throwing ever code possible and had to revert to stock management even to run. wow though!! even barfing rich black between 3-5k rpm and way lean at 6500k rpm it is disgustingly overpowered, i couldnt wait for my stand alone management. we lined up. (he is stock other then 18x9" & 18X10" wheels w/ 285/35/zr18 out back. 1-2-3 honk we launched, the cobra spins and hops while his eaton begins to whine,he gained 3-4 cl immediatley, torqueless untill atleast 3k rpm im bogging blowing intermitten puffs of black until 4500k rpm then wam! never b4 have i been thrown back so hard reeling back 2cl. I shift to second, he's slightly longer geared later to upshift.at my sweetspot in vanos i reelback side by side with still 1800rpm to go in second. I hit third and pull 3-4cl by 5500rpm as he just ends second gear. He then let off and throwing the in the towel. arent they 12 second cars? i built this all myself in an open garage in canada eh! if i can we all can... cheers :redspot

How did you up the boost to 17 psi on that supercharger?

i dont know how much your boosting, but do yourself a favour and cut off with all the racing/redlining till you get your a:f ratio figured out.. running lean is very dangerous! It would be sad to see your engine hit the bucket. PLay it safe, get it tuned properly and then lets see that race again!
Can I ask what province do you live in?

Sounds like fun, Have it tuned properly and it should run so much better.

we ran until he just hit 3rd, i was already in 3rd at 5500rpm at shut down, 140kms run, ohh and i typo'd, its around 430 crank HP, i may have torn my rear subframe lastnight, my right rear wheel has an extra 1" -1 1/2" wheel travel and is tracking now to the right...the S-trim is rated at 20psi max, most i could get is 17psi on my stick gauge, ill work on some video and sound clips from my phone....
Please get it tuned, before you blow it up, I'd hate to see all your hard work go up in smoke. Impressive nonetheless.

17psi?!? WOW, thats some boost!
The 03/04 Cobras run 13-14s at Denver altitude, depending on driver. Not sure what altitude you are at. My 9psi ProCharged Saleen will waste a stock Cobra in ET and trap speed, but a few bolt-ons and the Cobra runs 12s here.
nice kill

I see you have an 86 Saleen. Wow now that's old school!
I used to have a 93 Saleen SC. BFGoodrich press car. The black one with the Stern 3 piece wheels, S-Trim, Saleen/Vortech intake, etc.

Cool! Yea, the 86es definitely old school. Hard to find when you got 201 to choose from!

So from ur 4500rpms in first gear to 3rd gear you pulled 7 cars on a 370whp/trq 3600lb car? umm...was he spinning til redline in second gear too?

they dont spin, they wheel hop a bit and hook. 7cl = roughly 105ft pending an average car length of 15ft. i fail to see how it's debatable. 1/13 of a quarter mile isnt that much ground really... i call BS on myself..:buttrock

I can't see it happening...but then again i wan't there. Their second gear ends at 75ish so they should be able to hook after 1st gear. I won't argue, good race and nice car.

sounds believable. good run!!! my friend has an 03 cobra he picked up for like 27K...with only 600 on the clock at the time....wierd!!! still only has like 3K on it now(the original owner had lower back problems and couldnt use teh clutch after so he put it up on blocks for a couple years)his car has pulley, intake, exhaust, port polish, and something else i forgot.....ya....he doesnt hook till after 80. its NAAAAASTY fast. but a stock cobra...i could believe it what S/C you have?
