Okay I've tried and tried and guess I'm just missing something here. Where are my temp gauges/displays? I have the iDrive and checked w/ the stick on the stearing column (for the display by the tach and speedometer) and can't find anything that gives a temp. other than the outside temp!

doesn't this car have a thermostate temp? engine/oil temp? and so on??? how can I tell if my engine is over heating, etc....

The E90's don't have one. They have idiot lights instead. Before you go on about how important it is to have a temp guage, realize that the temp guages on the E46's were basically idiot lights. Ever notice how once it got to full operating temp, it NEVER moved? If that thing ever started creeping up it was too late anyway, the car was gonna overheat from sort of problem.

You have no coolant temp gage. Another BMWism that helps to make sure we are clueless about things they don't think we need to know.
I hope they will get a clue and put the gage back but oh well such is the way things are going, less information to the user...

Quit your bitchin, temp gauges in these cars would be a grand waste of space. Anyone who starts to truly push one of these things will install a far more accurate aftermarket one anyway.
With the new electric driven water pumps having a temp gauge is not nearly as imporant as it used to be. If the pump fails, the car will tell you long before you would have noticed unless of course you are the first and only driver to watch his temp gauge more often than any other.

I have gages in my car for volts, oil temp and oil pressure and I desire to know what the car is doing. Each to his own but if you are happy driving something without a gag so be it. I am not!
