I was happy to find out my bluetooth-enabled cellphone transmits well to my new 335i sedan, but disappointed to discover it doesn't "pair" the address book. This isn't a huge deal because I figured out how to enter the names and numbers to the car's phone system directly. Problem is I can't figure out how to set a "pause". I often call the area hospital (I'm a doctor) and need to enter a local number, pause, hit "1", pause, then hit a five digit extension. Anyone know how to do this? Any advice appreciated.

Did you try +#? What's brand of your phone? My transferred a phone book perfectly. The only problem I had entries in national alphabets lost their names.

BMW tells me there is no way to put in a PAUSE.

My phone is a verizon and I already called them - they explained to me that although the phone has bluetooth it doesn't have the right kind of bluetooth to enable automatic (or even manual) transfer of the phone's address book. I'll try the +# thing - did you mean try # as a pause? Will the voice recognition thing understand "pound"?

The point was that BMW says NO PAUSE.
Here is the email I got from them.....
