£30,940 for a 335i SE which is $58,488.60. :eek
The msrp in the usa is $40,600! :buttrock
I was trying to figure out the price for the touring but this completely throws me off. It is £32,110. So that's around a 3.8% increase. So the touring in the US would be $42,142 or so...if my logic works.
God bless america!!! :alright

USA E46 M3 = 50k
Canadian E46 M3 = 75k (That's what, 67k USD?)
50k CDN for the 335i is a little more reasonable, I suppose.:shifty

which is weird because you can get used BMW's in England/the rest of Europe for thousands less than you could here.

Man Australia is punishing on car purchases. I've heard of a number of brands with big price differences compared to North American. And I thought Canada was bad. Is that a tariff to protect locally produced cars or taxes?

All cars are like that in England, not just BMWs. Audis are the sae way, an RS4 in the us is $66,000 base, in the UK its 49,000 pounds base:eyecrazy Which needless to say is a crapload more money.

Any European cars seems to have the price punched up double what it is actually worth. Its even got me thinking to get my cars from New Zealand because they import them from Japan for a reasonable price.

Yah, but I don't quite see it that way, its about purchasing power. When I go to the UK, I find a beer costs me the same as it does in Canada...its just in pounds, a find a lot of things like that (CD's, Hotel etc.) Assuming salaries follow the same pattern (they kind of do when I compare our UK operations to our Canadian ops) you could argue you've got an advantage. Hey, now that's a positive way of looking at it. For some reason, there are many markets where cars don't translate properly from their US prices. In Canada it used to be an advantage for Americans to buy Canadian cars because of the strenght of their currency. Now with the Canadian dollar so strong against the US, its going the other way and Canadians have an advantage if they buy a car directly from the US.

Because there are so many of them...but out here in CA you can typically find pretty good deals on used BMW's.

did some research on BMW UK site, and they want about $130k (usd) for an E60 M5. That's freaking crazy.
