My pass window wouldnt go down one day so I thought it was the motor/regulator that needed to be looked at. Well today on my way to work it was a fairly cold day for Florida (55) and I bumped the window switch while I was reaching for something and my window went down. Would it be possible that the heat made something expand in the motor/regulator so it would bind up? Any ideas on what the deal was? I am just wondering if I should just run with it or if I should still open up the door and look around.

I highly doubt the heat made anything expand and I don't recommend looking around in the door if you don't have to. I've taken apart my door and it's a pain in the ass. I'd just wait it out and if it happens again and again then check it out.

Just my 2 cents,
Brandon

I just found it odd that on a cold/cool day it decides to work but the other days it didnt. Im happy though I wasnt looking forward to opening up my door anyhow. :)

Were you able to lower the window during the summer?

had a similar problem--my pass window would not go up one day...seemed like something was binding so i took the door apart and couldn't find anything binding up. after opening and closing the door a few times i hit the switch, it went up. the auto part of the switch didn't work for about a day, but after that it has worked fine ever since. no clue what it was, anyone else have any ideas?

Yeah I was able too but it just stopped one day during the summer. Wierd stuff if you ask me. I guess its just a coincidence.

The window mechanisms of the E36s suck, that's it.
