While this likely will come off as a thinly veiled 'for sale' ad (which it probably is :)), but I'm finally getting around to selling my 'beater' and I'm honestly in the dark on what a fair price is.
Nearly all the Euro swapped cars that have come to market have been either in full on track trim or garage queens ....so it's been hard to pin down what the premium exactly is for a swapped car.
You can find details of the cars condition here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7739857#post7739857 ,but I'll give you a breif rundown.
- Car met a ditch during a donut gone awry (Not my doing :))
- front bumper replaced, rear one cracked, rocker panel dented, pass. fender and nose panel are dented....but overalll the car is livable for a beater car.
- low milage (45k on drivetrain) S50B30 swap
- 150k on chasis
- needs all the usualy suspension stuff replaced
- otherwise stock
Is $11,000 too high, low, or just about right?

I dont think that 11g is too bad for a starting price. I wouldnt be hell bent on that price though because of the work that needs to be done.

Well the market for more kosher S50B30 swapped cars has been in the upper teens to low 20s....so it's a bit tough to guage the market when there aren't exactly many swapped cars floating around.
Oh well, someone is going to get a fun car for cheap one way or the other.

Well if I had the money I would definately consider it at the price you have it. If I were you I would probably try parting it out.

holy shit...i want...trade? :shifty
this is completely a shot in the dark..i mean, why would you trade a euro swapped m3 for a entirely american m3....exactly...why am i still talking, i'd say 11k is EXTREMELY fair.

Pending the pics, I would think 11 would be a bit on the low side, but thats just me. I'd probably tack ~2500-3000 onto the price of a regular M in that condition. I know they say you shouldn't expect to recoup money from mods, but I think this is a special situation and not your typical mod... Good luck with it!

He has pics linked in his sig.
- Damage to the passenger side rocker panel
----- not very noticable with the sideskirt attached:
- Cracked rear bumper on the drivers side and a very small dent near the taillight - Dents/scrapes to nose panel and passenger side front fender
- some scratches on drivers side rear wheel arch:
- Scratch where someone tried to 'jimmy' the drivers side door lock
- Shocks/lca/rtabs/rsms need to be replaced
- front bumper (not the cover, bumper shocks, frame rails, or radaitor support) is slightly tweaked.
- Generic muffler is bent
- A/C has been removed
- No radio. Harness has been redone.
- shift knob (generic) doesn't connect to the shift boot.
- slight bubbling on drivers side door insert
- headliner has parts that are starting to sag
- sunroof will only tilt up, not fully open.
- carpet is dirty
Swap issues:
- USspec transmission mounts were used, so the shifter sits a bit off.
- Passenger side motor mount has a crack surrounding one of the four bolts. - US radiator expansion tank was re-used. It works fine, however it's just wedged in place. The euro one sits near the firewall. The radiator hoses are new and for the Euro spec motor.
- Engine harness loom needs to be put back in the oem holder that sits/screws beneath the windshield cowl.
