Trying to decide which one I want, but I don't want to sacrafice performance at all.

Preferably I'd like to have the sedan for the extra doors, but if the performance (handling, accel, etc) is different in anyway I will shoot for the coupe.

Anyone know of any glaring differences between the two?

Yea, I would like to hear abt this too! My dad is in the market and we drove both, only to feel a slight difference in the weight, but thats it, blus you get more trunk space and doors, which is a plus if you take clients and carry your road bycicle in the trunk every day!

I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks!

I see "quite a few" sedans and I like the way they look. I chose the coupe because there wont be as many on the road. I was also surprised at how roomy the back seat was!

Yeah. When you accidently find yourself in the right-hand lane in the sedan, and look over your left shoulder to make sure it's OK to pull out and start moving, you see a B-pillar. In the coupe you see glass.

Drove the 330 sedan and the 335 coupe - both 6mt sport package. Thought the coupe front end felt a little floaty (compared to my e36 M3) but didn't get that same feel in the sedan. No clue why. Just ordered the 335 sedan. Agree about the b-pillar though.

According to BMW's site, the sedan is 1/10th of a second slower to 60. (5.3 vs. 5.4) The sedan only weighs 22 pounds more though. And the b-pillar thing has already been said. It depends on what you want, I personally think the coupe looks better than the sedan and two doors isn't much of a hassle.

I read that Car and Driver had the 335 sedan doing 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Seems it puts out more hp based on dyno tests than BMW is saying...they did the same thing with my Mini Cooper S in 2002.

Either way, I am ordering a 335 sedan for ED pickup...can't wait.

When I drove the coupe I didn't feel like I was driving a coupe. The driving position and view from the driver's seat (when not looking over your shoulder--a bad idea anyway) is very similar to in the sedan. In the past I think the coupe's driving position was significantly lower than the sedan's, but my rear end suggests this is no longer the case.

You might also check to see if your insurance company charges different rates for the two. Probably not, but always worth checking.

Will a convertible modification be available?

That's because you don't have to ride in the back.

I wouldn't have a two door car.

I won't ride in the back of a car without a door.

If something goes wrong I want to know there's a door I can get out of.

Old people have a terrible time getting in and out of the back too and the two doors are heavier

I would get the sedan over the coupe even though i like the looks of the coupe, the sedan is about 2 grand cheaper and seats 5 while the coupe seats on 4...I just wonder if on the sedan u can get a trust lsd not the open diff the coupe has

I don't ride old people around personally, and my friends don't care if they need to get in 1 door. If they can't be arsed to climb in around the seat to ride in a 45k BMW thats their problem. Also, if something does go wrong that you need to get out quickly like that the door doesn't have a huge chance of opening anyway. (Only situation I can see is the car catching fire after a crash, if that happened, the rear end got smacked hard enough the the door most likely won't be opening anyway.)

If you do not need to 4 doors - get the cooupe, other than that get the sedan.....either way there are both beautiful vehicles....

But I do like the 8 series rear console they put into the 3.....

Personally, I just don't like the 4 door tail lights, the coupe's is much more elegant in appearance. But if you need 4drs, the 335 sedan is still an awesome vehicle.

I didn't like them either.

That's why I bought blacklines. :D

in a coupe you sit much more rearward (relative to the wheels) then in the sedan, resulting in a much more pure handling experience. this is the number one reason to get the coupe in my opinion, plus it helps with weight distribution. i know someone is going to come on here and say "but its only 6 - 8 inches" but thats a big difference

4.8 seconds.

Has anybody been able to account for the Car and Driver 0-60 4.8 second result with the sedan, vs I think 4.9 sec for the lighter Coupe? And wasnt the sedan 1/4mile faster also? Not that a tenth is all that meaningful, and not that it would show up on all samples tested.. But this one sure cries out for an explanation.

I'd base your choice on what you expect to use the car for...

Personally, I have no need for more than 2 seats 95% of the time so the choice was easy. Although it did cost more, the coupe (in my opinion) just looks sleeker and sexier than the sedan. Plus the rarity of the coupe just added a cherry on top.

I have been driving 4 doors for about 8 years. Its time for me to enjoy 2 doors.

Hands down couple looks better. Looks are a matter of personal taste - so I suppose somepeople prefer rosie o'donnel's looks to heather locklear (showing my age). Otherwise, Ibelieve sedan buyers are just reinforcing their purchase. 4 doors are much more practical but not as stylish.

The explanation is that no set of circumstances is the same, and .1 of a second is nothing...too many variables. Slower cars beat faster ones all the time.

I can't believe you just compared my car and it's looks to Rosie O'Donnel.:mad

I'm glad you like the coupe but trust me, I do not share your opinion. There are many coupes that trump their sedan counterpart, the 3 series is not one of them.

Just a little E90 pride.:buttrock

I bought the 4 door simply because its nice to have a car with 4 doors. To me the looks are just about the same. 4 Doors are just more practical, but hey if you buy a coupe you can't lose neither. Both are BMWs both with the same basic performance,,,so its just a matter of what you prefer or need...:)
