Four weeks ago I ordered my 335i coupe, sparkling graphite with black Dakota interror. Between then and now I've gone to several different dealers just to see a sparkling graphite car in the flesh. Finally decided it had too much purple in it and changed my order to space grey.

Boy, that was close. When I saw that you "chaned" your color, I had visions of heavy metal marks all over your Bimmer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably will be easier to keep clean too... Space Gray never photographs well, but it is amazing in person.

Is the Space Gray color something different than the colors listed on BMW's US website? The only gray-like colors I see are Arctic Metallic, Titanium Silver Metallic, and Sparkling Graphite Metallic. I've heard others mention Space Gray and never knew quite what they were talking about.

The Space Gray looks great! I saw it on the 335 demo I drove. I think that any sort of medium gray is now the "new silver".
It is a very popular color over in the Porsche camp. They called it Seal Gray but for '07 it is now a different name. (can't recall what it was)
My '06 GTI is United Gray. Should I order a new 335i it will surely be Space Gray.

This is a new color only available on the e92. It may be available in the future on the e90 335i, but not sure if it is yet (and too lazy to check). It's a warm gray (as opposed to arctic which is cold) between titanium and sparkling graphite. It has a lot of sheen/flake and is really beautiful in person.

Space Gray seems to be different from most recent BMW colors, but it does remind me a bit of the gray metallic colors on Porsche 944 Turbos in the late 1980s. I'd like to see these colors side-by-side to determine if it's really as similar as I think.
I took a few pictures that you can see on the e90post.com forum, and hopefully here after I can post them. The sun was quite high in the sky and the results were great, showing the surface details in much the same way as the pictures in the brochures. I've heard some say it doesn't look as nice on an overcast day, so I'll wait for one of those (not many in this area) and take some shots to see.
