i have a 1993 325 with a s52 swaped in and i have been looking for a set of cams but what will creat the most power. right now i am at 240 a the wheels
i have heard that sunbelt cams are having troble with the s52 motors.
so i have been looking the the shrick cams, are their any other options for cams?
tunner has a kit for the s52 but its obd2 and i am running obd1 so would i run with the the s50 cam kit??
thanks

DSR's (dynospot racing)
I put 265 to the wheels with those cams.

Yes I did before and after but went from 21.5# inj to 24# and from AA to Stickley software to electramotive. So its not a good comparison.

ohhh they are regrinds...... hummm how much did they run you... they dont have any prices listed and im in japan callin is kinda PITA
but how much hp/tq did you gain between dynos
im going to be doing ...24#, hfm complete 3.5, bbtb, and custom tune... plus i already have headwork, 11.5:1 pistons, valves, retainers, pulley, exhaust, flywheel ..... so i just like to see dyno s

IIRC they are 7-800 and they take your old cams for a core.

can someone help me overcome my brain fart and help me understand how taking a stock cam and regrinding it will make it lift the valves more?
im just not picturing this mentally... im only seeing less lift if by taking off material.

+1 i always wondered that... I can see less lift/duration from grinding material off but how more?....

They weld/bond new material on the lobe then grind the new profile. Unlike schricks they drop right in and don't need to be indexed.

No 236 was AA SW
I have a high 25X's dyno's somewhere from Stickley's software.
265 was TECIII

i like the fact i dont have to index them, which is a bitch on these engines when in the car, but the idea of welding on new.. HmmMMMmm
anybody else scetched out by this?
indexing is the term used to describe a method of finding the cams true timing.
the reason this is done is because aftermarket camshafts are almost always marked differently than stock cams.

I have not heard of a single re-grind failure. They have been using this method for years...prob since the 70's. IIRC AA's turbo cams are re-grinds.

This is the best comparo you will get. Same day, same dyno, same mods. :D

Unfortunately 270 at the wheels is not a realistic expectation. You won't get close to that number with out getting into the motor.

what did you have done to the motor to get it to 265?

I would do DSR's again. But to get past 265 you need headwork, higher compression and higher octane besides 91.

i already have a je pistons w/ 11.5:1 compression, complete head work, valves, springs and retainers, all bolt ons that there are(intake, exhaust, pully, flywheel, i bought but have not installed, +
3.5hfm, 24#inj, dinan bbtb, and will be getting a full custom tune) and now i need cams to complete everything im shooing for atleast 250 ... so as long as i hit 250whp ill b happy of course ... thats a pretty low goal , i dyno'd at around 230 w/ out any injectors, hfm, bbtb, cams, or ecu tuning... so im sure that i can squeeze out a few more hp w/ these. MUHAHAHAHAHA MUHAHAHA

I want to get this built then i think i might run a low (6-7psi) twin screw... after everything gets boring again :) so we will see ...

schrick. Posting up a number with a Tec3 isn't really fair. I put down 264 with schricks and the stock management. I was told I could pick up 10hp with an aftermarket box by the guy who did my tuning. (that is what they get (prob. more) with the race cars.)
Anyhow, good luck!
