Okay well i failed the smog test the first time and replaced all 4 o2 sensors.
I failed the smog test again and the guy says change the cats:
The dealer wants $1200 for the cats
aftermarket cats from the dealer is about $575 for the pair. then i need to find a shop to cut and install new ones.

While i am doing it all,
should i upgrade the piping? should i go to a bigger size?
Should i put the aftermarket cats?
WHAT I REALLY WAS THINKING: should i put a high flowcat? how many miles with the high flow cat last me?

I honestly wanted to have a track pipe to use when i am driving and when it was smog time i could just slap on the stock piping, but since i need to change the cats should i just throw some high flow cats?

while im at it, what else could be the problem? my car only has 94,341 miles on it. i only have the m50 manifodl upgrade and a cold air intake.
the smog guy said my NOX levels were high which is normally due to a high temperatures in the combustion chamber

If you get a track pipe you will get a check engine light. Because the readings from the first two are going to be the same as the rear two. I would just put high flow cats. Of if you dont want a PITA just get stock mid-pipes of the forsale section. Just my two cents

I dont think that used cats are worth having on the car. by the time i buy a midsection and ship it, it would probably be cheaper to just have new cats put on

check out his site. $404 each, as opposed to 1200 at the stealer.

regular aftermarket cats cost about $575 for the pair. thats a huge difference in price just for "high flow" I wonder if it is really worth it?

I starting to think that maybe i should just sell the car.

wait a min. the price u said, $404 each is not what the site seems to show. The site says $404 total doesnt it? and it is a brand new mid section so so welding is needed. I kind of want to ditch the resonators with my stock exhaust

I suppose higher flow cats will give you better performance than plain old after market cats, all the while costing 171 dollars cheaper each. either way
you decide to go, id rather spend $808 than $2400.

How many mile do you have, I think, but I am not sure, but your factory cats should be warranted to 85,000 miles. check it out.

i looked into the warrenty. I definately would not put the dealer cats!
I was looking into some unverisal obd3 aftermarket cats. I was looking at the super cat but it is kind of expensive

I have a stock mid section that I could sell with less than 20k put on it. But I am sure shipping wont be cheap... its heavy and big.
