I'm looking to sell my recently totalled M3 minus the following.
I'm just not in the perfect situation to be parting my car right
now So I'd like to sell the whole shell pretty much.

Little Background Info.

-120K on Motor/Chassis
-Replaced Tranny
-Replaced Clutch/Flywheel OEM
-I have a stock suspension kit along with it minus springs.

Just to clarify, because your original post is a little unclear, you are selling the car as it sits, minus the following:

-Brakes
-Coilovers with C/C Plates
-Stud Kit
-Vaders
-Kosei K1

If that is the case I would bet you could expect 4-5 tops for the car, if there is not any damage to the drivetrain. If you were to part it out yourself you could get more.

Speaking from experience and a person who has parted out a car before, you cannot go strictly on the prices of the parts. This is because you have to spend time (time = Money) on ripping this stuff out. Therfore parts cars are sold at a big discount due to the fact that all the parts need to be taken out which takes a while.

If you are keeping some parts (actually you are keeping a lot of the goodies) the value of the car comes down a lot.


IMO, your highest should be around 4k and that is a huge stretch.

That statement is very misleading. The body damage sustained on that car is easily 3k+ in body damage alone. You would also have to source out new seats, radiator, clutch fan, aux fan, condensor, new coolant lines, new suspension, new seats, new brakes and a many little parts. The costs would probably add up close to 5k or more depending.

By body damage i mean the front bumper, hood, both fenders, radiator support, front grill, nose panel, door, side skirt and work done on the rear fender.

As we all know a fixed car is never the same again so we are essentially looking at a 10k+ project here.

G'luck with your sale but you have to be fair to the buyers aswell (regarding your words, not your price).

In any case, throw it on eBay, let the market dictate the price.

You *may* get 6k down the line but it can be a long wait. Better 4 or 5k in hand now so you can move on, than 6k in a few months when the dollar furthers down the crapper, ya know man :)

Or just part it out yourself and get what you can. Engine and driveline alone should net you 3500-4500. Interior another 1500, bumpers and what's left of the air kit, maybe another 500-700, and wheels, another 1000. All other various parts like heater core, AC unit, etc, probably another 500-700 if you sell every little piece. You'd be way ahead of the game.

imo an engine with 120k miles is not worth $3k. You can get a motor with 50k miles for that like 3500.
