Looking to purchase an E36 M3

I'm looking at a 97 3 series BMW, 101k miles on it, $14,995.

Being a 'noob' to BMWs, I'm getting advice from everyone that I can on what to look for/things to consider/things to watch out for before purchasing one/etc.

I've found a good deal more of them around that price/year range, give or take 10k miles, too. So I'm not even set on a certain one yet (gotta save money while still paying bills anyway).

So if anyone could help a guy out, it'd be much appreciated.

make sure it has maintenance records, and definetely get a pre-purchase inspection done, it's definetely worth the money

Wouldn't have it any other way.
I glanced through the thread about problems with the E36 M3s, too. Most of that stuff (wear/tear, other problems) should be found during an inspection if there is in fact a problem, correct?
