Doors in grill area

On the 01 330ci there are two hindge doors about 4"long x 2" high under the long lateral by the fog lights in the second regtangular opening from each side. these doors are not spring loaded they close by there own weight.What is the purpose of these doors???Sorry I don't have any pictures for you.

Not exactly sure but it sounds like the covers for the towing points or something like that.

the two tow points are small little covers up on the bumper,one in th front and one in the back.
