hey guys, the vehicle here is an e36 325is and im trying to decide on either a a turbo or a supercharger...what would be the ups and downs of each of them, which one is safer, and also which would be more efficient for power...thanks in advance

You don't want to know what people are going to say to you after asking this question.

This is probably the most common asked question, therefore there are many threads around answering this question.

In the black menu bar at the top there is a search button, try searching for those terms and it will come up with more info than you need!

In short, turbos can make more power but you are at the mercy of lag due to the fact that it has to wait for exhaust gasses to build in order to kick in. Whereas a supercharger is linear with the power of your engine because it spools via belts connected to your engine.

It should have been the first stickied! The worst part about all this is even with the amount of reading I did on this, I was still flipping the coin. I would think the ONLY way is two drive a version of turbo, CF with aftercooler, and twinscrew.
