Will 328(m52) lifters work in a 325(m50), i know they have a different part number,so they are slightly different, i thought i read that they were better designed than the ones in in m50's, is that true?
thanks

The 328 lifters are 33mm versus 34mm. They will work in a M50 motor but will require the use of the lifter buckets from a 328 or m3.

i see, thanks!!!
Is there any reason to go with either over the other?
I am putting an S50 head on my M50, so I have both sets of lifter buckets / cam trays, but only the M50 head has lifters, so I'd have to use the M50 trays with the S50 head... right?
Other option is buying a whole set of new lifters, which is not an attractive proposition. :mad

The smaller lifters reduce weight in the valve train safely allowing higher rpms. From what I hear the smaller lifters are good to about 7700-7800 rpms. Not sure about the larger ones.
Thanks. I guess I'll leave that up to the head shop, then.
