car wont start

i have a 95' M3 prod. date 10/95. The car will not start there's power ,but no clicking , no humming ,nuttin. I get a check code for 1281 which is the dme. i checked all the connections and unhooked the battery and ecu for 5 min and connected back but still nothing. what can i do to test the ecu? to make sure its dead or should i start somewhere else?

the starter is only a couple months old , besides i tried poping the clutch and it didnt work.
