for those of you in the maryland area, you might have heard of a volkswagen/audi/bmw guys called dub-life.

well the dub-life crew is starting talks with a few local tuner shops to put together a Charity "Show n' Shine". It will be ana ll german show. most likely it would be free registration with 5 cans of food or something to that nature.

I am writing this to see who here would support it and show up, show the car or anything like that. it might be tied into a dynoday/discount parts and stuff. so if all works out if your participate there will be discounted dyno and such not. we are going to try and work it out with some vendors to come and show some support and other things.

Please post if you would show up or would like to offer any suggestions! thank you all very much!

Didn't they already do this a couple of months ago?

a group did this in virginia it was called "Dubbers Feeding Others"

We are trying to make it benefit 2 groups at one time. The people who we would be donating the food to, and the people that donated the food. it would hopefully involve discounts on parts and such not, and discounted dyno runs. "Dubbers Feeding Others" was come show your car and maybe win a trophy while donating food.

our event will hopefully be hey come show your and maybe win a trophy, get discounted dyno runs, and some discounts on parts, and talk to the techs from the tuner shops with advice or anything on your car/plans. once things start to work themselves out i will keep everyone updated.

me too, I need to get my car on a dyno so I vote for a discounted dnyo day in conjuction. And if we provide food to the less fortunate we all feel better at the end of the day.

Now, how far do I have to drive for this  :D

I'd come check it out since it's for a good cause. Where is it being held, and what shops are sponsering it?

Trying not to speak for Chris here, but most of the dub-life crew is from the washington/baltimore corridor. So it's pretty safe to assume the show would take place somewhere local to us. Btw, I believe one of the shops under consideration for hosting the dyno runs is NGP Performance.

Can they switch the dyno for RWD and FWD easily?

I know the guys from NGP. I used to bring my old Jetta up there for stuff.

Not sure about issues with fwd vs rwd on their dyno... I've never been their myself. But a guy I know recently had his blown m3 dyno'd up there, so the bimmers should be okay. Well you would have to find out if they have the proper straps to tie down an e36/e46 to the rollers (read: t-hooks!!!).

But then again, it may not even be NGP, so we'll have to wait and see how things work out :)

hey jeremy thanks for chiming in there. I am going to sit down and talk with steve from dub-life soon and see what we can work out. and then start to meet up with the tuner shops and give some calls to some vendors and see what we can do! thanks for showing interest in this. I have recently started my own company call Euro-Motion we will be covering East Coast euro events and putting out a strictly euro calendar! stay tuned for further details on the gtg/show/dyno day.

I would definitally be interested in coming to the show. Mostly to see the cars, I would not be entering my own.

SUGGESTIONS:

Spring time!!! (warmer weather is better)
If it can't wait hopefully you will have an indoor facility.

Guys always want to see Chicks... so models for the cars
or other friendly ladies for the men are usually a must.

Maybe some music, otherwise the cars usually bring the fun, and the entertainment!

GOOD LUCK AND GIVE US THE SCOOP WHEN YOU GET MORE TOGETHER...

GREAT CONCEPT!!!!:buttrock

How come?

Anyways, spring time would be the best, especially during spring break, when all the college kids are back for break. A good place to host this show would be at AUTOTHORITY in Fairfax, VA. You can check their website out, www.autothority.com

I'm not sure DVinsight and Eurasian image are on good terms either. it might be that euro-motion will be filming if i can get a new camera by then. NGP has already said they would do it, that is was steve from dub-life told me. we are looking to set up a meeting and get a bmw vendor to attend.
