I found they have the same part number (11131748755)... I went underneath the car and I found that my original oil pan ('97 M3) does not have the wire harness the '98 328i oil pan does... I was wondering if I could just leave thie wire/harness safely zip tied underneath when I isntall it on my M3???

Also, other than the oil pan gasket, what else should I replace???

TIA
Joven

Why would you change the wiring harness? Just leave it! Maybe I don't understand how things are setup there. From what I've heard this isn't exactly a simple on/off operation. It could involve more steps to make the pan fully accesible.

Maybe others have more ideas for you, but to start I would address the oil pump nut while its accesible.

Good luck.

there's a wire harness on the 328i oil pan... it's right underneath the pan, while my M3 doesn't have that... I'm in the process of getting my original oil pan replaced with the 328i's that I have...
