View Full Version : 10mm spacers on ACS Type 3 cause too much negative camber - Why?

So I picked up four 17x8.5” ACS Type 3 one piece wheels a few months ago from a BF member. They came with 10 mm spacers for the fronts. The only problem is that I assume because of the spacers they have some ridiculous amount of negative camber and the insides of the tires are shot while the outers are left practically unscathed. I know it is most likely not my setup on the car because the front is stock except koni inserts and Eibach pro kit, no camber kit, and I have a competent mechanic that does my alignments (though I have not had one with the new wheels). My OE setup 17x7.5” with 225x45x17 runs down very evenly with this setup. So what’s up with this? Is it just that the added distance from the hub is creating this problem?

Additionally, I have noticed that all members with 18” ACS wheels run 7 mm spacers instead of 10. Do you run into the same problems with the tires? Does anyone else have 17” ACS wheels and if so, what size spacers do you have? Do you have issues with camber? Where can I get some new spacers for these wheels (and I am not buying ACS because those are a total rip off) and what size do I need (5/7/8 mm). I currently have 235x40x17 tires but will be putting on 245x40x17 when the old ones run down.

Forgot to mention, et 43 on the wheels.

Bump, anyone even run ACS Type 3 one piece wheels?

spacers do not add more camber. it is probably toe that is wearing your tires if it is up front.

But the toe was set to zero at the last alignment approx 3 months ago, and my other set of wheels with no spacers are wearing normally. Thanks at least for the suggestion, i will check that eventually and maybe that will be it.
