Being from Bklyn, NY when I say 'the car' it comes out 'da cahr' and people think I am saying the color. Wut da fu@#?

Estoril is a famous race track in Europe. It is pronounced "S" "Tore" "Ill".

re Estoril -- if you pronounce it authentically it's "eesh-tor-ILL" :eek:

I just say "ESS-tor-ill" though ....

Another car thing most ppl mispronounce is "Bilstein" - you know - suspension components. Everyone (including me) says "bill-steen" where in fact it would actually be pronounced "bill-stine" the way it's spelled.

I think I'm going to start saying "bill-stine" just to confuse people. :D

Seems like i've been pronouncing dakar and estoril correctly, but I still have the most trouble with saying Hellrot outloud.

heh, it always comes out as "hell riot" for me for some reason when I say it outloud
