Just put ContiExtreme Contacts on my 330. I know they will not be as grippy as a max performance summer tire but they seemed less grippy than I thought they should be, they've been on for 3 days and about 65 miles.

One thing I like is the ContiExtremes ride much better than the ContiSport Contacts that came off.

I think it usually takes a couple hundred miles. My cheapo Sumitomo HTR Z II's took at least 150-200 miles before they weren't so slick. They will probably be PLENTY grippy by 500.

I would think optimal grip would be when they get close to the wear bars as the contact patch increases and your ride height decreaes. Of course the grip in the rain would be awful by then.

I was hoping for serious responses. I've read that new tires need XXX number of miles before they grip as they "normally" should. I'm hoping that is true, because I'm not very happy with the grip of my new (65 miles) ContiExtremes.

I was serious, your original post said "optimal" not normal, good luck
