I am looking for a mechanic in the San Diego area. I am currently working on a yacht as a Chef and have no time, place or tools to do some desperate suspension/front end repairs. Hoping some one out there can help.
Thanks in advance.

Frank Fahey comes widely recommended: http://www.frankfaheymotorsports.com/ My car is originally from the SD area, and he/his shop worked on my M6 years ago, before I bought it, and I met him a little while ago at Concorso Italiano somehow. Very nice gentleman, but I know nothing of his current pricing or anything.

I did have Bavarian Master Care in San Marcos do my PPI and a couple of things to the car before I picked it up: http://www.bavarianmastercare.com/ and I really, really liked them a lot. Exceptional shop, and very good rates. But, I don't know how much of a drive that might be for you. I very much wish that I were local to them.

The BEST independent shop in San Diego is La Jolla Independent. It is a no nonsense no bull shop.

Its run by Carl Nelson, he is the West Coast Tech advisor for BMW/CCA.

Their # is 858-488-1555.

They are usually very booked. Ask for Carl and tell him Evan sent ya.

Roger that, I will give him a call. Will they do some after market upgrades? Do they have performance enhancing suggestions and are they charging La Jolla style prices or more Escondido?

Carl is very cool.

Tell him what you want, what your budget is, he will laugh, remind you you own a BMW and not Honda, he will bitch about how expensive things are, just when you begin to sweat, he will give you a discount on your bill.

FYI, dont forget to bring six pack of GOOD beer as a thank you and peace offering. Carl is just that type of guy.

German Motors on Turquoise in Pacific Beach, used to be on Cass St, but they do great work with good prices! Tell Brenda that David and Leisa sent you!

Secondly, Dose BMW service in El Cajon! Family owned and fair priced. Just tell Brandon that David in La Jolla sent you!

Either place will take good care of you.

Well I am actually just tiied up here on Shelter Island so maybe the Pacific beach option could be the easiest. Cheers again all.

Thanks for the tip on La Jolla Independent Evan--I took my 633 in for a new clutch yesterday, on your recommendation, and was extremely happy with the results (not to mention the people and cars that make that place a BMW wonderland...).
