Hello to this place. I have a 83 628 5 speed. Does the tranny and differential take the same gear oil and if so what grade. Looking at using AMSoil just trying to select the right grade.

Based on the blue books for the E23 and E12, the diff and manual transmissions use SAE 80-90. Check out bigcoupegroup as a check, though.

Many recommend Redline MTL which is a 70-90, or Mt-90 which is 75-90w. So i put his weight in the tranny and differential and I'm good to go.
