Low Profile Tyre Handling

I have just bought my 1997 328i SE & when i go over even the slightest pot hole, sunken drain cover or rough road the back end wobbles, i put this down to the very low profile tyres (235/40/17) what are your thoughts????? rides beautifully on smooth surfaces.

Are you sure all your suspension components are in good shape? If it's a 97 car with stock parts, it's very likely that it's due for a suspension work.
