avg mpg 24.2, and my avg speed was 71 mph... would have been much faster but i hit a lot of traffic.

I had the a/c on and there was some bad weather but the car did great... only thing is the airbag light came on :mad

and the autozone code reader supposedly cant read that code, so its off to the dealer. i really dont get how that can come on in the middle of a drive for no reason.

i'm sure its some stupid sensor that went bad, but its still annoying. my question is would the airbags still work if its just a bad sensor, or will the light being on, dis-arm the system?

I have this same problem currently on both of mine. One is just seat belt sensor and the other is both the seat belt sensor and seat pad sensor (passenger side). What I was told by the dealer is the driver side airbag will work fine- it's the passenger one in question. The dealership said it would probably go off on the passenger side, but the force of the explosion is what is in doubt. I guess these air bag sensors in that seat are so sensitive they can tell the size of the person sitting in them and determine the amount of force to deploy. This is just what I was told and haven't had this confirmed yet, so there's the disclaimer.

I thinking changing the seat belt sensor would wouldn't be as challenging as doing the seat pad sensor too. Total cost for both parts and work at a dealership will run you about $900 with labor. Haven't had mine done yet as right now I am the only one driving.

that is a terrible design. i would rather take the airbag light out of the dash so i dont have to look at it lite up, then spend 900 on some stupid sensor.

as far as i know there are only 2 speeds with which the airbags deploy and i hardly think thats worth all the complex systems they have that end up failing.... i guess its a trip to my mechanic to find out how bad the damage will be.

i wish i knew for sure if they will deploy, and to be honest i'm more concern with the side and head airbags than the front ones... the side ones are the one i feel like would really make a difference.
