1 Series - external audio device

I have a 1 series with the standard business CD radio. When pressing the 'mode' button you should have the option of listening to an external audio device that is plugged in. Regardless of whether the device is plugged in and playing or not this 'line in' option doesn't appear. The strange thing is that is used to!
