MarusSandiego and his wife christy were involved in an auto accident tonight and totaled the mini.

They were able to walk away from the accident with only minor bruises and scrapes.

Marcus said the mini held up to some serious damage and protected them in the cabin. Even though the mini was rolled it held up.

Marcus and Christy are currently, at UCSD medical center and should be released very soon.

I don't know any other specifics at this time. Marcus will update this post when he can.

Thank god they're ok!

Wow... I was just looking at pics of his car today on DTM. Thank God they're ok. I guess he's back to driving that crappy 5er now :D

At this point I'm sure he is happy they are both alive without any major damage to themselves.

The hospital wants to keep Christy overnight for observation and they should both be home tomorrow morning.

Please extend my best wishes and a wish for a speedy recovery to Marcus and his wife. They were truly blessed to have been driving a MINI during this accident as its strength belies its size. My condolences as another MINI (my twin) has given its life to protect its owners.

Wish them the best and a speedy recovery. The Mini proves to be a safe little ride.

Good to hear they're ok.

Some people complain that cars such as the Mini are too heavy.
I'd wager that that's why that little car can hold up so well in an accident. Well placed and engineered metal. There's just no substitute.
