Jim, et al:
I have a 2002 M5 with Dinan suspension and camber kit.
Looking for a dedicated set of track tires for DE events. I will use my OEM wheels (18") for this set of tires. An instructor friend recommended the Hoosier R6. When I looked at them, they seemed too aggressive. What I am looking for is this:
- A tire that is stickier than my street tires (I run Dunlop Sport 9000's on 19" wheels)
- Above average dry traction
- Won't kill me if it rains
- And, will last for a years worth of track days (10-12)
- Oh, and don't squeal like a stuck hog like the OEM tires (imagine my embarassment at the track)
I think I am leaning towards the Kumho MX's - mostly because of their treadwear and grip rating versus price.
Thanks,
RS
