Over the years im sure many 95' m3's have been demoslished for w/e reasons...reading the M registry page for 95' 3.0's it has the following data.

USA coupe manual (LHD): 8,515 built from 02/94 thru 01/96
USA coupe automatic (LHD): 1,705 built from 12/94 thru 01/96

do you think the 95' 3.0 m3 will ever become rare? 8,515 is a lot but i wonder how much the number has dwindled down...

thoughs?

The great thing about the E36M3 is that it is not rare. Rare=$. My buddy has a 3rd gen. RX7. They made very few of them and basiclly for only 2 years (94 didn't sell that well, so they rebadged them for 95). The cost to maintain or modify it are rediculous compared to its value. I bought an M3 specifically b/c it is not rare and cheap.

But it all depends on how low the number gets, it will be a loooooong time as some one else stated, but I plan on holding on to mine for a looooong time.

I think of 95's exactly like I think of 73' Datsun 240z's:

Somewhat rare but findable. A few still with the original owners....
Desirable b/k of the lowest factory weight and fewer emission controls.
More raw, less dumbed-down and with a few modifications superior to early examples.
Not "fancy & fat" yet.

Which is our 95's in a nutshell.

What will be rare in a few years is finding a 95 that hasn't been abused/modified/neglected, etc.....
You still see some 100% stock, very clean, well maintained 95's pop up, but it will be a challenge finding one maybe a few years from now.

It's already rare if it has 50,000 miles or less lol. But will the everyday M3 be rare ever? Err...I doubt it.

I thought they built more of the 95' models than any other year, since the actual model year lasted a looong time. Sounds like it would be the least rare of all the other e36 m3 flavors?

Not if you think about it, all the '96 and above are the same for the most part (obviously they are different but same motor, suspension, etc). And the '95 is the only year they made it with a 3.0l and the different suspension, different leather, etc.

With the rate of demise that I have read on various forums from collisions, selling for parts or turning to track weapons the numbers of pristine unmodified 3.0L M3s must be getting lower by the day. So come on guys, keep modifying them, you're making mine more valuable by the day........ :stickoutt :stickoutt
Re the previous post: 3.0 L car were made from 1992 to January 1996 in Europe. US 3L cars were made in 94,95 and 1/96 but all were badged as 1995 models.

+ 1 -Precisely my thoughts. I am owner #2, I knew this car from the day that owner #1 brought it home (I was 12 years old), have all the records, maintain it, and try to keep it very stock. Hopefully I'll have one of those rare ones :buttrock but really, rare =$ as someone already said. Compare the rarity of a mint low-mileage E30 M3 to a 95.... lol

the one i almost bought would be considered rare...

1995 M3
40K miles
Avus Blue
Light grey cloth interior
No sunroof
Full OBC
Lightweight "motorsport" wheels

Car was in brand new condition, but I couldnt find a buyer for the 330 in time :( Talk about "the one that got away"...

Could have picked it up for $20K two years ago... a car thats rarer than an actual lightweignt.. :(

Cloth seats and no sunroof = Rare!!
Now im no expert but it seems like there are more 95 M3s than 96+ M3s combined im sure that is incorrect but I have to agree with Hugo on this one it seems like every other car on the BF.C is a 95 M3.

I doubt a lot of people would collect 95's just for the heck of it.... I just never see these as that super rare. If I was a hardcore collector, I would look for the real ltw and/or the cloth + no sunroof combo. Plus, I wouldn't want to collect the dumb down version... I would collect the real Euro M3 Evo.

Then I would buy another E36 M3 so I can drive it the way it's meant to be =]
