For instance:

I bought 2 motor mounts from BMW of San Diego today, since I need them by Saturday...I paid $21.50 apiece.

I found out that AJUSA has them in stock for $13.50 apiece, and they're closer to my house anyways.

Will BMWSD take the parts back and refund my money? I obviously haven't used them -- this all happened today.

Yes, they should. They don't take returns on electronic parts (because they can be easy to blow up), but mechanical-type stuff should be no problem.

Return a CD mounting kit (no electronics involved) after opening it and it was no problem at all.

They should. Just talk to Emily or Rudolfo and make sure you have your receipt/invoice.

shouldn't be a problem

so long as you have the receipt and the part is in the original packaging still I've never had a problem.
