Ok, so my rear window is fogged pretty bad. I tried some cleaners but nothing helped. So I either need a new top or a new window. Can I replace just the window or do I need to do the whole top? Some local shops are saying both but I don't knwo if their prices are good. One place says $200-$300 for just the window. Another place says $1018 for the whole top and another $325 to install.

What have your experiences been? What are your opinions?

Thanks.
Dan

Anyway, I orderd a new window (note: use all the glue he sends you! You'll see)

and I installed it (email me for install tips) and it cracked 3 months later :mad just a small 1/4" at the top middle and the guy (can't remember his name) said " oh that's too bad, I'm sorry about that. Another one was shipped in TWO DAYS !!!!!!!:buttrock :buttrock :buttrock

First of all does your current rear window have a zipper on the inside? If so then it is an original BMW window. If your top is in good order (you have treated it with 303 or Raggtop preservitive right?) then just do another original BMW window. The guy on eBay sold me my original BMW window and an upholstry shop installed it for me for a minimal fee. It takes 2 guys to do this right or 1 that knows what he is doing. I think I paid about 200 bucks for mine. If you don't have a zipper on the inside of the top around the window then you have no choice but to go with a plastic window.........

Thanks everyone. My window does not have the zipper so I guess it's not original. Does that mean I need to buy a new top or is there a way to just do the window?
