In my 92' 325i 4dr my sunroof totally stopped working. it used to move only sometimes, but now not at all. It doesn't even try to move, when I press the switch nothing happens.
I bought a new motor for $80, (the two plug kind) and it is the same. Nothing.

Checked the fuse, its fine,. Windows are still working good on the car, its just the sunroof.

What else can I do.. How can I check the power and ground. Whatever that is. Need help please,, IT seems a lot of us Bimmer Owners have had this problem. I want to maybe check if it might be the switch, but here in San Francisco the BMW parts store does not let me even check to see if this is the problem, if you buy it you buy it. And thats 40 bucks right there.

HELP!! !!

Hook the power and ground wires up to a voltmeter and see what it reads (with the car accesories on). If it reads zero,, then wiring/relays/fuses could be your problem. Also, check all your fuses, not just the ones that say sunroof.

mine did that and all checked out. But I haven't gotten around to checking the comfort relay but since my windows work that shouldn't be the problem. What I did to fix my problem:
pulled the sunroof fuse, checked for power at both sides. there was none at either side and it should have had it on one side no matter what. (somehow the fuse box is not powering up that fuse) So I jumped power from another fuse of equal size, so it will blow if I draw to much power (I don't want a fire!) and now my sunroof works fine.
The only problem is which side of your sunroof fuse to jump power to. You have to pull another fuse in the same row to find out what side has power with the fuse out so you can jump power to that side or the fuse will not blow if it needs to because the current won't be running through it.
Oh, make sure when your using the light/voltage tester your key is on!!
