loud thuddering noises from engine bay

im hearing loud thuddering noises from engine bay by the fan... upon inspection.. i found whitsih green residue near air duct that sends air to aletnerator, also found small traces on fan blades... anyone have any ideas ... it is a 95 325is... with 139k miles.... was looking at it and has plastic tstat housing... so im thinking all of water cooling system is original even though i was told other wise by person who sold it to me... :mad damn dealer lol was as is :P lol oh well i luv my car :buttrock

ummm i speculate that the problem might be the water pump ... making the noises.. i've orderd the fan delte kit from understeer... repalcing pump n tstat n fan delete... also on way is new raditator with houses... so yea any input would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like you've got it covered.

EDIT: Might as well check the condition of the belts/pulleys while you're in there (as if you could ignore 'em ;) )...

according to my prev. owner's dealer maint. records all of my cooling system was replaced, but they put the plastic Tstat housing back on.

They did replace the pump, fan, and radiator.

not these noises... weren't there before... just sounds off... but yea... parts are on way... :D hope that fixes the problem... i'll let ya guyz know... how it goes... should be here by weds or thurs.

wonder if it was changed on mine ... umm is there a way to find out what maintence was done to the car at any bmw dealer?
