Hi Guys, great site!
I am based in the UK and have had my 1988 635CSi since 1998, bought it with a genuine 34K miles and have taken this up to 107K.
I have not had the time over the last 18 months to keep it in the manner it had become accustomed to and it has only done 4000 miles in the last 2 years. I am now having some problems with power steering and electrics.
I noticed power steering / brake fluid on the left front wheel and there were streaks down the outside of the reservoir. the level seems ok.
What could make it overflow?
Some time ago the Rev counter, on board computer, Radio unit and interior light stopped working. I traced this to a 20A fuse and replaced it, it blew immediately and when checking with a meter from the fuse box there is almost a full short to chassis ground. I did once manage to get things working again while I was tugging wires that ran behind the dash/facia but it was a short lasting fix and no amount of wire wiggling since has got things working.
Any / all suggestions welcome as to how to trace this problem
