My fiance and I are purchasing a 2003 Honda Accord tonight. What should I do to protect it? Do you think the paint is old enough to wax yet? Should I Lexol the leather seats, or wait a few months? Is there anything I can put on the rims to make cleaning them easier, and protect them? I'd like to take them off the car and wax them, but it's like 30 degrees out here, and I don't have a torque wrench to re-tighten them properly. Can anyone recommend a nice torque wrench? The snow will be falling here soon, and I just want to protect the car as much as possible.
Thanks,
Ryan:)

I would recommend Klasse. I use it on our car that stays outdoor and in the snow most of the time. It gives excellent protection from snow sleet and particularly salt. It is also great on wheels.
It is easy to put on. I just waxed our car last week and it was 35 outside but the garage was close to 55 and it turned out OK . It just takes a little longer to haze before you buff.
A and M in Toledo recommends KLASSE for winter applications like this. It is German made. If you want more info or want to order it cheap try www.aandmmotorsport.com.
Use the All-In-One first to prep the surface and then the Sealent for your final protection. It gives you an elastic clear polymer protection for your surface. The best investment you can make to protect your car against the elemnets.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone else have any opinions?

I'm a Zaniac and am quite pleased with the results I've had with Zaino. Like Klasse, it's a polymer coating.. Unfortunately, I can't compare the two products as I haven't tried Klasse yet.
Zaino is about $12/bottle... and one bottle is good for about 10 coats (or more). To get it, you have to go to the Zaino bros website and print out a snail mail form send in (which is perhaps part of it's charm).
My last 3 coat application lasted through almost 5 months of weekly washings and rain before it stopped sheeting water. That's several times longer than any other product I'd tried before. Shines like glass.
Like Klasse, there's an optional 'bonding' agent that can be purchased to help it adhere to the paint. I've used it both with and without the bonding agent and didn't notice much difference... your mileage may vary.

Ziano is a great product do not get me wrong , but it is designed for the show car folks . That is who it is marketed to. If you look at the back of the bottle of KLASSE and I quote" Provides 6-8 months of protection against salt water, sun, industrial pollutants and corrosive elements" That is their guranttee. I do not think any other system provides for such a performance . KLASSE is made in GERMANY where it snows 6 months out of the year and they use road salt and other products that KLASSE is designed to protect against. If it is protection you are looking for in the winter months look no further.KlASSE will give you the protection like no other product out on the market, plus provide a nice shine in the process.

So I think I'll try the Klasse then. Is there anyplace I can buy it retail, instead of ordering it? Do I need both the cleaner and sealer, or just the cleaner? Is it a liquid wax? Any special application techniques? Can I use it on the rims? Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

I do not know of a place to get it retail but A and M is in Toledo and if you order it , you can get it the next day in Chicago. They are the lowest priced on the web. Try them at www.aandmmotorsport.com. They are at $18.00 for the All-In-One and $16.00 for the Sealant. Most other prices on the web are $22.00 and $20.00. They sell in volume to car dealers but sell at the same prices on the web.
A friend of mine who lives in Lion Il somewhere around Chicago ordered products from them and got it the next day.

It is a 2 step liquid system that is very easy to put on. Just do a 24x24 section using an up and down motion wait till it hazes and buff do one coat of All-In-One every 6 months but I would suggest 2 coats of the sealant . Again the sealant is a liquid and again do a 24x24 section and buff wait a day or so if you want a second coat and re-apply the sealnt. It just gives you a deeper shine. As for protection one coat is enough .
Good luck I have just finished doing my wife's car and it looks great .
