Alright guys, I searched around, but couldn't find anything so hopefully this hasn't been a topic before. But I can't believe this hasn't been discussed before.
Anyways, I have a 92 325is, and it has a dash that does not have a passenger airbag. Is it possible to swap a dash that does have a passenger airbag? How much time and money are we talking about here? And is it going to work? Of course nothing is 100% you hear about accidents where airbags didn't deploy, but I wouldn't be doing this swap for aesthetic purposes...
Thanks for your help.

do you want the look of the obd2 dash??
or do you want the passanger air bag to work?
the dash will bolt in but if you want the air bag to work they have different mounting points (for bolting in the airbag) and ALOT of other sensors and computers that you would have to buy for some seirous $$$ not to mention mounting it all and running the wires...

I would want the airbag to work. Only because I drive my g/f and my little sister around. I would feel terrible if there was an accident and an airbag could've saved someone's life...How much money is serious money?? Of course we are talkig about approximations...

If it didn't have an airbag originally, it's not practical to put one in. Sensors and wiring are too much to mess with...and it has to be done right. make 'em wear their seat belts.

Yeah I don't think I would trust myself to an airbag retrofit. It is one thing to do a stereo or something, but an airbag? How do you make sure you wired it right? Will it go off when you crash? Will it go off when you don't crash (say, when you are getting out of the car or something)?

Yeah I hear you on that...Didn't really think about all the possible scenarios on that one I guess.

I've thought about this as well, but it's probably easier just to buy a '94+ with an airbag already in it.

What he said.
Here is the plan. We trade cars. Because I want a race car and you want a DD. I have a DD and you have a race car. :eyecrazy
