I'm going to reinstall door side moldings after painting the car. I bought plenty of new grommets and clips to replace the ones that broke when I pulled the molding off. Any hints on the reinstall? Is it better to fasten the clips to the molding, then line them up with the holes and push them in, or install the clips first, then snap the molding in?

picked up the clips at the stealership at about 20 cents each. I was outside this morning trying to reinstall the side moldings and found that there are two holes about 1.5 inches away from eachother on the front of the rear door - is there a special clip I need to pick up for this? it looks like a tight fit squeezing two clips to fit in both holes.

i'm reinstalling non-m e36 moldings... what's the difference between them and the M moldings other than saying "///m" or "motorsport"?

no all ...i forget how many holes tehre are....but you dont need any special clips...

and now M moldings look way better on the car than stock moldings and you can change the badges to say ///M or Motorsport or MTechnic

IIRC there is one bigger hole that does not get a clip at all.
