where it is hitting the hood?

was the bar used? bend?

check the instruction again for mounting/torque spec on the nuts.

If this is a real acs bar I'd have thought quality would be better than this?

Make them pay for shipping. They sold you a bar ( I assume) they claimed fit your car and it doesn't. You shouldn't have to pay a dime. Threaten them with negative feedback if you must.

If you can return it, get a Sparco strut bar. Online price is about $130 and a few bucks cheaper on eBay.

threatening with negative feedback wont do shit, saying you will seek a claim with ebay might work.

And if you paid through PayPal you'll definitely be able to file a claim/dispute:

what would that do? i cant ride around with shakin parts haha

i think im gonna return it, and this dude said he could hook me up with a dinan one straight outta global imports (big bmw dealer in ATL) for cost plus 10% off...which would bring it to 275:buttrock still expensive, but better than 400, and better than a fake acs strut that doesnt fit

Well I bought a pair of strut tower bars on Ebay, yah they weren't the most expensive but I figured they would at least fit and function ok. Heheh, not quite, I only installed the front, and the mounting points were a bit off, and it caused the hood to pop up a little. So I took it off and now I have a pair of strut tower bars I will never use...crappy ebay sale FTL. :P Genuine ACS bars only FTW!

You don't really need a front upper strut brace. I wouldn't waste the money.

You don't really need a front upper strut brace. I wouldn't waste the money. Unless it's sweet-ass Sparco in red that matches your car! ;) But other than looking pimp...you're right. The only performance change is slowing you down when you add oil, change plugs....

Has anyone ever actually figured out what kind of stress is actually applied to these things???
I mean, ive been lookin at these for a while, and seen some CF ones..

I hate CF, just cause im always afraid its gonna break and shatter, how the hell does something that improve suspension be made of CF and not break??

CF won't break or shatter very easily, it flexes... When my buddy pulled his motor he had this 240lbs guy jump up and down on his carbon fiber hood, all it would do is flex in and return to it's normal position. Now a lot more stress than 240lbs is probably placed on upper strut braces but most carbon fiber braces are constructed of both CF and some type of metal.

Well at least yours is triangulated and not hinged.
