Hey everyone, I'm a college student looking to pick up a new car. There is a local guy selling his manual 1995 325is, black on black w/ 93k for $4500. The car has a full M3 kit, M5 rims, cleared corners, tails and sidemarkers. Now for the bad news, the sunroof is broken (easy fix), there's a slight crack in the front bumper, and there's a leak in the A/C. The owner replaced all the major A/C parts before finding the final part needed but decided he'd dumped too much cash into it already and is just putting it up for sale. I'm planning on going to check out the car this weekend, and then maybe have a dealer or mechanic go over it for issues. Do you all think this could be a pretty good deal? I'm not concerned about the sunroof, but how serious/expensive would you guess the A/C problem is? I work for IBM and do programming/web design sidejobs over the summer, so I can afford the $4500 plus insurance (~$2.2k per year, sucks being a 20yo male...), but if I'm going to have to dump thousands of bucks into it right off the bat for repairs I might consider something else, or try to argue the price down.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, I'm looking forward to being a true member of the bimmerforums soon!

thanks,
Andrew

i bought a '95 325is black/black 5spd with 137,xxx miles for 5,000 cash no more than a month ago... i love my car so much my girlfriend is debating cutting the brake lines (if only she knew how)

i'm thinking i can get another 100,000 miles pretty easy if i take care of her and do just a few easy fixes

i'd so go for it (i'm a college kid too... freshman though) gas milage can get great... an easy 28 mpg if driven nicely but a fast car if need be...

right now i'm hooked on buying shit for it... i've got clears on it and a cold air intake... i'm on a buying spree which isn't a good thing... but it looks good... if you have any questions feel free to ask me...

oh yeah... ask about the water pump

if you want pics of mine just ask
